46 South Hams Art Beyond the Edge

We can all picture the scene. A hot car filled with travel weary children, dogs collapsed in a heap in the back, parents doing their best to conquer the navigation of the narrow Devon lanes with high hedges and nowhere to pass, tempers getting ever so slightly frayed. Then all of a sudden there’s a glimpse of sparkling sea just ahead and, in a flash, the past few gruelling hours on the road are forgotten and excitement fills the air.

Charles Jamieson Strong Island Cape Cod

“Beyond the Edge” is a reflection of just that moment. Artists Barry Kelly and Charles Jamieson present a stunning collection of new work creating memories from around the wrold – from the dazzling horizons and cool rockpools of Devon with the iconic features of Burgh Island, Start Point or Thurlestone Rock, to the hot pink sands and turquoise waters of the West Indies, and the shimmering heat of the islands of the Mediterranean. This exhibition simply sizzles with heat and sunshine.
