With five unique attractions to discover, there is something to keep visitors big and small entertained throughout the school holidays. Delve into the many exhibitions and activities being hosted by Barnsley Museums.
Young Archaeologists’ Club, Barnsley and Rotherham
Saturday 13 July and 7 September
Do you know a young person who loves Horrible Histories or is interested in archaeology and history? Come and have fun by learning some archaeological skills or making crafty history-inspired creations, whilst finding out about different
historical topics. There are also opportunitiesfor visit to historical sites and do fieldwork such as excavation.
This is an on-going club and not a one-off event.
The club alternates monthly between Elsecar Heritage Centre in Barnsley and Clifton Park Museum in Rotherham.

Magical Gardens Wednesdays 14 and 21 August
Make a magical miniature garden compete with magnet animal to live in it. Session will take place in Learning Room, ask at the Information Centre for directions

Elsecar grew to be one of the leading industrial villages’ - containing a fascinating mix of collieries, ironworks, workshops and workers houses. How would you design your own village if you were an Earl? Come along to our screen printing workshops and make your own village inspired print to display at home.

Worsborough Rainbow Wildlife Walk Thursday 15 and Friday 30 August
Collect and paint the colours of the rainbow on a fun, led walk around the mill and reservoir. Meet at the learning hut near the playground.
