Celebrating 90 years

For 90 years, one independent menswear shop in Barnsley has been helping keep men smartly dressed with a tailored selection of clothing and accessories.

To cater for the dapper dressed men of the time, Tom Foulstone first established his clothing business on the Arcade back in 1929. It became a real family affair when his son Peter took over the reins in the early 1960’s, later joined by his son Roger. Today, the shop is run by Tom’s grandson who has been at the helm for 45 years.

Stocking both British and European designers, Tom Foulstone sells a range of tailored trousers and jackets along with casual knitwear, shirts and chinos.

One-to-one customer service, attention to detail, and providing top

quality menswear are their hallmarks. With vast experience and knowledge of men’s fashion, they offer a personal service which is what customers value. If you don’t find the perfect fit, Roger’s sister Janet is a seamstress and is on-hand to take care of all alterations in house. Helping out in the family business, employee Lynn has also been part of the team for over 25 years. “We would like to thank our loyal customers for their support and extend a warm welcome to everyone to come and browse at their leisure in a relaxed environment,” said Roger.
