DIVE INTO DERWENTWATER! Continued from cover...
Derwentwater is a major feature within the landscape of this area, it is a home, a place of work, a place of industry, as well as a favourite holiday destination.
This exhibition aims to look at these different viewpoints of the lake, through a series of areas:
•Through the eyes of the Local •Through the eyes of the Visitor •Through the eyes of the Naturalist •Through the eyes of the Geologist •Through the eyes of the Creative •Through the eyes of the Sportsperson
The exhibition provides a snapshot of the lake, telling the story of historical figures such as St. Herbert, the Earls’ of Derwentwater and Beatrix Potter through to current users of the lake such as photographer Stuart Holmes and spaniels Max, Paddy and Harry and the wild swimmers of the lake.
Highlights of items to be seen at the exhibition, include film props used during the making of Swallows and Amazons, stunning photography by Stuart Holmes
