Care Around the Clock, Eaglesfield Paddle’s before and after school provision, was set up in September 2014 to support our parents and has gone from strength-to-strength. This provision is offered each morning between 7.45am and 8.50am and from 3.15pm until 5.30pm in the afternoon, when the rooms are full of happy, chattering voices.
Wrap Around Care is available for children throughout the school, from Nursery through to Year 6 and is run by a team of experienced staff from within the school - including Senior Teaching Assistants, Midday Supervisors and other support staff; this allows the children to feel comfortable amongst staff whom they already know and provide consistency of care for our children. The staff work together to ensure the children participate in a range of activities to enhance their learning in school. Each evening, the children are able take part in a homework club, reading, drawing/colouring, ICT, construction, jigsaws and Small World play. In addition to these, there are daily fun activities, such as baking, Hama beads, dodgeball, or an organised craft activity. One evening each week is dedicated to board games, whilst computers are relegated to their cupboards! Board Games teach important social skills, such as communicating verbally, sharing, waiting, taking turns and enjoying interaction with others. The children play together in mixed year groups, with the older children sharing their knowledge with the younger ones. During the summer months, we take advantage of our beautiful outdoor area, with the backdrop of Skiddaw, take in the fresh air and keep active with the adventure playground, team games and creative environmental artwork.
