planned crowns, bridges, dentures and orthodontics. The future will be digital for dentistry too!

The role of the hygienist remains at the core of what we do. The links between gum disease, heart attack, stroke and diabetes are now very well documented. Toothbrushing alone, is not enough and our team of very enthusiastic hygienists work hard to help patients with the bewildering choice of products to choose one that is personally suited alongside the faithful toothbrush.

So, we have gone from 30% of patients wearing dentures to only 7% now and although most of our child

patients have decay-free mouths, other areas of the county are not so fortunate. The battle still goes on to fight the huge amount of sugar that young teeth are exposed to. We are lucky to live in an area with fluoridated water.

It has been a great privilege to work alongside Meredyth for 33 years and as she bows out, I remain very excited about the future and all that digital dentistry and total mouth help will provide. Beautiful mouths with healthy gums – a dentist’s dream!
