The Cockermouth Poppy Appeal has continued to grow, we have received great support throughout the town and surrounding villages, with many more businesses, organisations and new volunteers becoming involved. The local shops and businesses provided some lovely window displays, thank you for your support the displays were very much admired by all. Thank you to Sainsbury's Cockermouth and their team for providing the stand, support and refreshments throughout the appeal week.

Skylark Studio continued to sell handmade preserves, this enabled us to raise funds throughout the year and the beautiful handmade beaded Poppies made by Mrs. Hall continue to raise funds each year. Local schools, shops and businesses sold thousands of Poppies during the 2018 appeal, raising vital funds for the Royal British Legion. All funds raised, help provide much-needed support to ex-servicemen and their families. Together, we have raised £13,043.16 and across Cumbria, we have broken all records with the latest total standing at just under £580,000.

We are always looking for extra help – if you have any time to spare and are interested in becoming involved as Poppy Appeal Organiser, or Poppy Appeal volunteer, please contact me.
