CHURCHES TOGETHER IN COCKERMOUTH AREA WALKING GROUP


Bassenthwaite & DMC recently donated £500 to two local good causes. A cheque for £250 was donated to Friends of Mary Hewitson Hospital Keswick. It was presented by Club member Richard Gaskell to Mike Bulman and Dorothy Savage.


St.Bees and Sandwith Walk


Our next walk will be on Saturday 15th June at Arthuret, Longtown near Carlisle, a circuit of 5.3 miles with just 215 feet of ascent.


The second cheque was donated to Cumbria Blood Bikes and was presented by Club members Stuart Gaskell and Lewis Gaskell (on bike) to ex-TT sidecar driver Rob Fisher.


The money was raised from the club's summer evening Charity trials.

Meet at the layby opposite St. Michael’s and All Angels Church, Arthuret [Grid Ref NY379676] at 10.00am or at 9.00am at Christ Church, Cockermouth if you prefer to car share. Wear appropriate outdoor clothing. It is likely that it will be muddy


in places. Bring a packed lunch.


There will also be a walk to Talkin Fell and Simmerson Hill near Hallbankgate and Brampton on Saturday 22nd June. Details will be included in the June edition of Cockermouth Post.
