FOSTER FAMILY FUN DAY OUT AT LOWTHER CASTLE

Carers, Staff and children all had a great day out at the lost Castle, within the grounds of Lowther Castle.

Everybody was in good form and the children all hit it off with one another, straight away. The Sun had his hat on which made it a great day for a picnic, under the trees.

Lots of fun and laughter was had, with lots to do in the grounds, which were very beautiful and well maintained.

Ideal for families to run, hide and be adventurous.

Vivian Gibson, Community Foster Care RECORD NUMBER OF CARS AT DRIVE IT DAY - DALEMAIN

Over 270 cars attended the Drive It Day event organised by Wigton Motor Club on behalf of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs at Dalemain recently. This was a record number and over £1,600 was collected for WMC’s nominated charities, The Calvert Trust and the NW Air Ambulance. Such was the success of the event, that the catering arrangements at the Dalemain Mansion ran out of sandwiches!

The motorsport season is now upon us and Team Wigton members were out in force all over the UK. Down at Brands Hatch, Sam Kirkpatrick started the MG Trophy season with a class win in race two, after having clutch failure in race one when leading.

Malcolm Mousey (Talbot Sunbeam) was on good form in the Pirelli Historic Rally in Kielder, which

was a counter in the British Historic Rally Championship, a series in which Malcolm won his class last year.

On the Manx Classic, made up of three hill climbs based on part of the TT course, four Team Wigton members were competing. Andy Walkinshaw in his Minis Cooper S, David Wiggins in the Peugeot 205 Rallye, Peter Garforth in his Skoda Estell and the Paul Eastwood in his Alfa Romeo.

Wigton Motor Club has a full programme of events in June, with a pub run, grass autotest and a major historic and targa rally. The entry forms for the Lake District Classic on 23rd June and the Cumbria Classic and Motor Sport Show on 18th August, are available by visiting www.wigtonmc.co.uk
