you needle felt you will need to separate the wool fibres by gently pulling them apart and assembling into a pile on your mat, this makes the wool easier to felt and gives a better finish.

The felting needle is barbed and very sharp, please make sure you keep your fingers well out of the way and always turn your work and not your needle.

Glue your polystyrene egg into your plant pot with the wide end facing upwards. Take a handful of green wool, prepare as above, then place onto your egg.

Using your needle upright start stabbing through the wool and into the polystyrene continue working around your pot securing at the sides until you have formed a green mound. For the flowers, take small amounts of coloured wool, roll between your finger and thumb to make a small ball then felt onto the front of your green hill.

To Make The Sheep: Felt a white ball on your mat,

turning all the way around and

stabbing until it feels firm. Roll small amounts of black for the face and ears and very tiny dots of white for the eyes. Place your sheep on the hill above the flowers and felt into place making sure you secure well around the bottom.

To Make Trees: Cut two pieces of pipe cleaner

one slightly larger than the other. Prepare your wool but this time using a layer of green and a layer of black continue to separate and place on top of each other to blend the colours.

Wrap this around the top of your pipe cleaner and carefully needle down the sides to secure, being careful not to stab the pipe cleaner which could break your needle. Leave the bottom half an inch exposed.

Make two holes using your pokey tool or awl behind your sheep and glue in place. Use a small amount of green wool to felt around the trees and holes.

Glue ribbon and a bow around the top of the rim of the pot. Your Spring Pin Cushion is now complete. Happy Crafting!
