Suppor t

your loca l farmers

Why not swap your weekly supermarket visit for a trip to the local farm shop? You might be surprised how much you can pick up there.

Farmer Jacks Farm Shop was opened in 2005 by two Island farmers with the shared aim of providing quality local produce, reducing food miles and supporting the many farmers and food producers of the Isle of Wight.

These two farming families have an agricultural heritage that spans several generations and grow some of the most sought-after seasonal delicacies, such as asparagus, cherries, apricots, strawberries, pumpkins, squash and sweetcorn, which is celebrated every September at the annual Sweetcorn Fayre.

In 2010, due to increased demand, a new purpose-built Farmer Jacks Farm Shop opened. With the addition of an in-house butcher, delicatessen and food hall, Farmer Jacks has been able to significantly increase the variety of food

that’s now on offer.

Now shoppers can find many items from their grocery shop at Farmer Jacks. The in-house butcher supplies locally reared meat, poultry and game, with more than 75 per cent sourced from Island farmers. The delicatessen has a great selection of local, regional, national and international delights that includes more than 20 different cheeses, a selection of olives and antipasti, cured meats, self-service flavoured oils and many other carefully sourced delicacies.

Throughout the food hall, you’ll find a delicious selection of accompaniments, including chutneys, jams, mustards, pickles, sauces and condiments to complement any meal.

Freshly baked bread, dairy produce and local seasonal fruit and vegetables are sourced wherever possible to complete your shopping list.

Farmer Jacks Farm Shop is located at Arreton Old Village, Main Road, Arreton. Visit www. farmerjacks.co.uk for more information.
