Steve Robson, Visual Impact
Colour and texture are essential autumn themes at Visual Impact
Colour has become a staple element of men’s fashion. Rustic tones like burnt orange, amber, maroons and greens are popular, even among younger men who may have formerly shied away from colour.
“I’d have never previously dreamt of buying yellows for autumn, but we’re seeing demand for mustard yellows, as well as sweatshirts in maroon and burnt orange,” says owner, Steve Robson.
Men are wearing shirts, polo shirts and sweatshirts a little looser, with slim tapered jeans and chinos, rather than skinnies, plus the ever- popular fine gauge knitwear.
“Autumn is our busiest season largely due to our fantastic range of autumn/ winter footwear,” notes Steve. “Our full leather, waterproof Barbour boots absolutely fly from the shop.”
In ladies’ wear, key themes for this season include texture, rustic tones and denim.
Visual Impact’s tactile collection mixes leather, shearling, velvet, silk, wool, cashmere and corduroy for a unique and interesting look.
Denim in a variety of washes is teamed with statement knits and chunky boots for a stylish, practical look. Visual Impact’s buyers have selected pieces with unique detail, whether a tie wrist, frill neck or side stripe trouser.
Popular colours include golds, greens, pale pinks, mustard and orange.
The standout piece for autumn/winter is a hardworking coat. You’ll find styles from lighter denim jackets, trend-led shearling and faux fur, to colourful, weatherproof Barbours and Ted Baker coats.
There are several new accessory ranges coming in, and for those who shun the cold outdoors, relax in style with Visual Impact’s new luxury loungewear collection.
