OCTOBER FASHION SHOW AND FUNDRAISER AT THE ITALIAN TOUCH
The Ventnor Giant - when street artist Phlegm came to the Isle of Wight
Ventnor Exchange has been exploring new ideas with a strand of work called Urban Experiments, with objectives to try new ways to activate and animate our urban landscape.
In 2016/2017 they created the ‘Portrait of a Town’ project, photographing hundreds of local residents and installing their portraits in locations throughout the town. The project was so well received that another urban intervention is planned this year.
Street artist Phlegm agreed to take up a residency in our little town to work on a mural inspired by Ventnor. Phlegm’s work can be seen all over the world. He has made headlines recently with the world’s tallest mural on the side of a tower block in Toronto and is cited as a favourite of the infamous Banksy.
Look out for the Style of Wight Street Art feature coming soon – we’d love to hear from you, contact editor@

The event, at Sandown Airport, was the first major fundraiser for the £100,000 Building for the Future appeal to create a new cancer wellbeing centre on the Island.
