A level PSYCHOLOGY
Overview of subject Psychology is the science of mind and behaviour. It uses the research methods of the sciences to investigate the human mind and to find out about and make sense of human behaviour.

Course outline Students are required to learn a number of detailed psychological studies and to develop a strong critical awareness of the research methods used. Other key concepts we engage with include ethics, gender bias and the question of free will.
Year 1: Introducing Psychology as an academic discipline, exploring areas ranging from memory to obedience
Year 2: Applying psychological theory to explain topics such as schizophrenia, relationships, cognitive development and gender.
