Vocational Pathway

This is a very flexible pathway for students who are thinking about pursuing a career in a practical, vocational environment such as Level 4 vocational qualifications, an advanced apprenticeship or foundation degree. Students on this pathway can take advantage of our broad vocational offer and study a combination of courses which will help them to prepare for future study or the world of work.

It is expected that in this pathway students will need to have at least four grade 4s from their GCSEs, preferably including English Language and Maths. The core of this pathway usually consists of two or three vocational qualifications. These courses are mostly

examined by coursework and suit those students who find terminal examinations do not enable them to demonstrate their true ability. It is expected that students in this pathway will engage in work related learning to enrich their programme of study.

There will be an opportunity for students to re-sit their English Language and Maths GCSEs for those who have not yet achieved at least a grade 4.
