Chamber celebrates the festival of Vaisakhi
Members and non-members of the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce celebrated the Sikh festival of Vaisakhi, at an event organised by the ABCC and hosted at St John’s Hotel in Solihull. More than 200 guests attended the event
which celebrated the birth of the Khalsa, which was founded in 1699 by spiritual leader Guru Gobind Singh. Guests enjoyed a number of presentations and speeches from committee members and sponsors, including vice-president Lakhbir Singh, who acted as the evening’s compere, Stephen Edmonds from the children and young people directorate at Birmingham City Council, Manjeet Ghataora from West Midlands Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association and Raaj Shamji from Mahirs Experience. New ABCC president, Qasim Majid, started
proceedings and discussed his first few weeks as president, the Chamber’s diversity pledge and introduced his new executive committee to attendees. He said: “It is our job as the executive committee to connect members and foster a business environment that will help our members prosper and grow.”
