St George’s Park hits major events milestone
Record year: St George’s Park
St George’s Park, the national football centre based in Burton upon Trent, is celebrating a significant milestone – after hosting more than 7,000 events in its first five years. The £105m venue has hosted
7,102 events over the past five years at an average of more than three per day. St George’s has posted year-on-
year record results for meetings, incentives, conference and events since launching. Home to England’s 28 national
teams, the 330-acre site combines elite sport with elite business, having welcomed brands such as Nike, BT, Premier League, Continental, Molson Coors and Vauxhall. The venue boasts 13 outdoor
football pitches, a full size indoor 3G pitch, cutting-edge rehabilitation and sports science areas and an Outdoor Leadership Centre.
Holly Murdoch, general manager
at St. George’s Park, said: “These figures are great news for St. George’s Park, confirming our unique standing and appeal to conference and events organisers across the UK and beyond. “What sets us apart is the fact
that not only do we offer inspirational sporting facilities used by some of the world’s top sporting stars, but also pair this with a high- quality events offering - all in a rural location that can be tailored to every organisers’ needs. “It is this mix of services and
facilities that has attracted, and continues to attract, a range of organisations to St. George’s Park, which all gain an unrivalled experience. “In the coming year, we’ve got a
number of exciting developments planned that will boost this offering further. We look forward to the number of visitors increasing throughout 2018 and beyond.”
Palace’s office with a view
Blenheim Palace’s newly-opened estate office offers its staff the chance to look out at what might be one of the finest views in England. The new single-storey office has
views across the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The view takes in Blenheim’s
Queen Pool, the Vanbrugh Grand Bridge, ‘Capability’ Brown’s parkland and the 18th century palace itself. Blenheim says the new building
recreates the vista which inspired Lord Randolph Churchill, father of Sir Winston, to coin the phrase ‘the finest view in England' when he first saw it in 1874. “The new office provides a
fantastic new workplace for our central teams,” said Blenheim CEO Dominic Hare. “We had been based in the old
Woodstock Lodge building for 14 years and the team had outgrown the space and it wasn’t feasible to adapt it to our growing

requirements. In particular, we need to grow our teams to deliver on our 10-year goals commitment. “As well as looking absolutely beautiful, the new office space is fitted with the latest technology and has been specifically designed to adapt and develop in the future. “The architect has managed to
create a flexible, welcoming and functional workplace while making use of traditional materials and local craftspeople to enable it to fit very comfortably into its surroundings.”
