Ritchie Bosworth of Twisted Barrel

Marstons ‘nano brewery’, DE14, is collaborating with a Midland craft brewer to produce a limited-edition vegan beer. The new beer – Ultra Green - is being

developed in conjunction with Coventry brewer Twisted Barrel Ale, and it is a ‘cucumber and lime sushi’ Gose. Gose is a top-fermented beer that

originated in Goslar, Germany, and is known for its saltiness. Brewers Ritchie Bosworth and Jenny

Hagyard decided to use rice as the grain for their beer, and seaweed, to add the salty element to the Gose. Jenny, from DE14, said: “While we are all

incredibly proud to be able to brew the classic Marston’s beers in the main brewery, as brewers we really love to experiment in the DE14 brewery; even more so with inspirational brewers like Ritchie using unique ingredients. “We decided to call the beer ‘Ultra Green’

Machine keeps greens pristine

Branston Golf & Country Club has recently taken delivery of £40,000 of new high performance machinery that will be help keep its green in pristine condition. This takes Branston's investment in golf

course maintenance to £250,000 in the last three years. The new machinery is a John Deere Pro Gator utility vehicle and Gambetti demount sprayer.

Ben Laing, Branston Golf & Country Club's managing director, said: “Although we'll still be using a contractor when we need the whole course spraying, that they can complete on less than a couple of days, this valuable addition to our range of machinery will give us much greater flexibility and improve the efficiency of our green-keeping team who work hard maintaining our courses in tip-top condition.”

because, along with its ethical values, it has a lovely citrus-and-salt zing with the cucumber flavour to add a cooling balance.” Ritchie added: “We love to collaborate

with folks whenever and wherever possible. It has been great to work with Jenny and the team at the DE14 brewery and combine our shared knowledge to produce a great beer for everyone to enjoy. We've learned something from every collaboration brew we've ever brewed and this is our eighteenth in the last year alone.” Ultra Green beer is available through the

DE14 nano club and will be heading to various craft beer venues around the country over the coming weeks.
