BRILLIANT BROADLAND IN WW1 MUST SEE EXHIBITION ON NOW! At the Museum of the Broads we are proud to announce that our new exhibition is now open and is on until Armistice Day, Sunday 11th November. It not only covers the local men who fought, but also looks at life on the home front. Did you know the first ever air raid was a bomb dropped from a Zeppelin on a Broadland village? The role of women is also covered in the exhibition looking at their various roles, including the Women’s Land Army. The exhibition includes a film made in 2014 with local people and Stalham High School. It has some fascinating artefacts, and some great stories including 2 lovely love stories. The Museum has been thoughtfully put together and is decorated by a number of handmade poppies produced by some of our volunteers and friends, commemorating relatives who served. Special events this month include the Boat and Fishing Jumble on Sun 13th May. Why not pop along and grab a bargain.? This is part of the Broads Outdoor Festival. Our Emergency Services Day is on Sun 27th May with Broads Authority, Hemsby Lifeboat/Inshore rescue, HMS coastguard, Norfolk Police, local council and RNLI attending. It’s going to be a very interesting day. Go on#makeitstalham this May. Museum of the Broads, The Poor’s Staithe, Stalham, NR12 9DA,
