at the Division Round and they did really well at the final, only two points behind the overall winners. Wroxham Guides who went bag packing in Roys Food Hall on Good Friday, would like to thank the generous customers for their donations which will be used to offset the cost of Norjam. Our thanks too, to Wroxham and Hoveton Lions for presenting us a cheque at their Annual Presentation Night. Wroxham Guides are now looking forward to the lighter and hopefully warmer evenings with many outdoor activities in the pipeline including a weekend camp. Kate Leader 1st Wroxham Guides 01603 722665

WROXHAM AND HOVETON LIONS CLUB Will you be taking part in our Sunday May 6th Garage Sale in Wroxham and Hoveton? If so, please leave us feedback on our website or Facebook as to how your sale went. As you may be or may not be aware, we will be holding a craft fair in the Broadland Youth and Community Centre on the same day, between 10am-4pm. Come along and browse the many goods on sale, then have a refreshing drink and maybe a bite to eat. Our precinct tombola will be in action everyday until the end of September. So pop along and see if you can win a cuddly toy All of the Lions proceeds from our fund raising, after disbursements, goes into our charity account. Funds from that account were recently used to support 29 local causes and charities at our presentation evening on 17th April. We will of course be supporting other causes throughout the year, so if you have a worthy local cause or charity that needs help, write to our club or drop us an email and our welfare committee will consider it, before bringing it to our members for approval. As you can appreciate, our fund raising could not be carried out without our members devoting time, effort and a willingness to help those less fortunate both at home and abroad. So, If you are a person who would be willing to help our small team, we’ll be happy to see you at our social meetings on 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month, or our business meetings on 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm, in the Broadland Youth and Community Centre, Stalham Rd, Hoveton. For more information please ring me on 01603781310, or our Membership Chairman Lion Ron Hill on 07753382410. Good quality Bric a Brac or clothing is always needed in our Lions Shop in the Hoveton precinct, so please bring them along or we can collect – just ring 01603 784093. Our April £100-00 shop draw went to the “National Autistic Society” nominated by Anthea Olson from Horning. Would you like to volunteer to help in the shop? If so, drop into the shop and talk to a member of staff or ring Lion Terry on the above number. You can follow us on Facebook or our website. We look forward to seeing or hearing from you.
