March
following the Pre-Running & Training Day at 4:30pm. finishing around 6:30pm. In consequence of this the agenda was reduced not to incorporate all the departmental reports as these had already been published in the Staff Newsletter. The usual commercial report and balance sheet was presented which revealed an increase of just over £1000 in takings for 2017 compared with 2016. Stalham Brass Band wished to attend the June & July runnings which was accepted with grateful thanks. A nominated charity for 2019 was still being considered and £2,500 was agreed to be given to East Coast Truckers our 2017 nominated charity. John Mason stood down as Smokebox Editor (monthly staff newsletter) after 10 years. A big thank you for all his work and support was given and a good welcome to his successor Joshua Thompson. A number of special events were noted plus BHR2 portable track away attendences including Strumpshaw Steam Ralley on 26th
- 28th May. Our first
public running on Easter Monday was wet and cold which reflected in the poor visitor attendance of around 50 resulting in a minimal total of around £270 being taken. A very welcome pre-running staff buffet meal had been organised by Sue Wells and grateful thanks for that. A presentation Cheque (£2,500) was handed to representatives from East Coast Truckers and a member from Chatterbox introduced himself and thanked BHR for having been selected 2018 nominated charity. In spite of the conditions thanks to “Lizzie” our Easter Bunny who gave invaluable support to the afternoon along with an Easter Egg Hunt. Some operational difficulties seemed inevitable. A meeting took place on 14th
. April at Wroxham

. April at 1pm with emphasis on the new “Museum Line”. MAY
. April was another very poor result
with only around 50 admissions and another disappointing total of around £260 being taken. The weather was overcast and chilly but hopeful of better things to come. A routine after running meeting took place and nothing specially to note was raised. A working party had been planned for Sunday 29th
