What does your company do? Private banking and bespoke financial solutions for high net worth clients.
How did it all start? We have just celebrated our 25th anniversary. We started in South Africa and have grown to a significant UK operation and as a founder-managed business we relish working with like-minded people.
What’s your greatest achievement so far? Being a proud dad to two sons.
What is the biggest risk you’ve ever taken – and did it work out? Leaving West Bromwich Building after 28 years. It worked out well, enabled me to experience different working practices, cultures, meet new people and take on new challenges.
What keeps you awake at night? Nothing. Sleep well and be ready for the next day.
If you could turn the clock back, what would you do differently? Life is too short to look back but always try and learn from experiences.
What has surprised you most in your job? No real surprises, just never assume that you know it all.
What advice would you give to someone starting out? Learn from good people and stay true to yourself.
Which business do you most admire? John Lewis, great customer service and an ‘employee inclusive’ firm. Also, Investec, it really is about the client.
What exciting projects is your business working on? We are very much in growth mode at the moment and always looking to work with new clients and prospects to achieve their goals.
What made you join Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce and how are you making use of your membership? The Chamber is very inclusive, it has a real sense of purpose and represents and champions the region in a positive way. They are a true touchstone for businesses and the range and variety of events have huge appeal across the whole membership base.
