Season ticket sales soar as Villa reveal price freeze

Aston Villa Football Club have announced record first day sales of 2018-19 season tickets – following the announcement of an ‘early bird’ price freeze. Following the announcement,

sales rocketed by 176 per cent against the opening day of last year’s sales window. Supporters were given until 6

April to take advantage of the price freeze. Sales of this level haven’t been

seen at Villa Park since 2009. The club says its continued

dedication to being one of the most affordable clubs in the Championship or Premier League is a key contributing factor to the sales figure. With the club raising its junior

price bracket from U16 to U18 in- line with the new school leaving age, young supporters seized the opportunity to purchase their tickets. Chief executive Keith Wyness said: “We really wanted to reward

New partnership sees Eventmasters earn their Spurs

the fans’ loyal support by offering them the most affordable options we could for 2018-19 seasons. “With Villa Park in full voice, we

have seen the results on the pitch and keeping the fans at the heart of the club is a vital part of our vision for the future of AVFC. “That’s why we are so happy that

the early bird price freeze has been so well received, recording day one sales that we haven’t seen since 2009. “We will continue our

commitment to the fans, with plenty more planned to recognise their dedication to the club over the coming months.”

Tottenham Hotspur fans who want to make certain of their seat at the club’s new multi- million pound stadium next season should head to a new online site developed by Birmingham-based hospitality specialist Eventmasters. Eventmasters Travel is a

dedicated website which gives Tottenham fans the option to buy travel, accommodation and hospitality tickets, while at the same time taking advantage on an online community that includes news, forums, facts, stats and match reviews. Spurs have agreed a ten

year deal with Eventmasters, who have become an official reseller of travel and hospitality packages for the club ahead of the new season at the new stadium. Eventmasters director Elliot

Standing room only: Edgbaston’s capacity is being temporarily raised

A boost for stadium capacity

Warwickshire County Cricket Club is responding to demand for its programme of major match cricket in the coming year by boosting capacity of its Edgbaston Stadium through a temporary stand. Edgbaston, the biggest cricket venue outside of

London with a capacity of 24,550, has partnered with Arena Seating to add another tier of seating above its Stanley Barnes stand at the Birmingham End of the ground. It will provide an additional 850 seats for its seven

major match days, which includes England’s only T20 against Australia on 27 June, the first Test of the five- match series against India between 1-5 August and the T20 Blast Finals Day on 15 September. Gareth Roberts, commercial director at Warwickshire County Cricket Club, said: “This will be the third time in

the past four years that we have brought in the temporary stand, which is a direct result of the popularity of the fixtures that we’re hosting. “With another outstanding allocation of matches to

come next year, there is every chance that we will work with Arena Seating to boost capacity again.” Edgbaston will host five matches, including a semi-

final in next year’s ICC Cricket World Cup. It will also host a Test in England’s all-important Ashes series against Australia. The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) awarded

the Birmingham venue the second biggest allocation of major matches that have been scheduled between 2020 to 2024. Tickets in the temporary stand have now been released on-sale for all major match fixtures in 2018.

Sheasby said: “We are really pleased to offer travel club packages to the market which we expect to be taken up very quickly - as I understand it at the moment, this is the only way that you can guarantee yourself a place on an individual match basis, demand will be very high.” Spurs senior executive

Steven Shepherd said: “We have worked with Eventmasters for a number of years now and enjoyed a productive relationship together. We are delighted that they have chosen to continue the partnership by signing up as an official reseller for the next ten seasons in the official travel club at Tottenham Hotspur’s news stadium.”
