AFL Architects: Undertakes architectural design across all sectors with sports club, local government, NHS Trusts and developers among their clients. AFL is one of the few practices in the UK to use Building Information Modelling (BIM), technology used in the design work for two major stadiums in Turkey. As a result of their BIM R&D investment, they are procuring larger and more complex projects making them more cost effective and streamlined.


Crown Highways: The construction business specialises in highways infrastructure, including drainage, lighting, signs and technology. Their technology and innovation is designed to reduce the negative impact on millions using the roads by reducing delays and risk. A major project is reducing traffic management on the roads by introducing technology that will cut the number of cones on the roads. It is also working on the technology that will be needed by drivers of electronic cars.


Indestructible Paint Ltd: Makes what it says on the tin for aircraft engines, gas turbine coatings and other specialist parts. The company’s focus has been on inventing new and more environmentally acceptable alternative or replacement products. They have also been researching the re-formulation of aero engine coatings to comply with EU legislation in collaborative research with Rolls Royce among others.


Managed Enterprise Technologies Ltd: The cyber security business has made significant investment in technologies, people and processes. It has launched METCloud for the SME market designed for businesses to take advantage of the Cloud but who may have major concerns with cyber security and data protection. METCloud has been built with high levels of cyber defence and surveillance technologies which enables clients to trade securely on line.


Omni Cyber Security: Their wide customer base includes banks, non- profit organisations and public bodies. As well as offering state-of- the-art security operations against cyber and physical threats, the company has developed ways to help companies meet their payment card industry data security standard and general data protection regulations. Omni also uses technology developed by NASA to protect premises and data.
