Update Lotus 110 road-racing bicycle.
Lotus 110 road-racing bicycle Our thanks go to Steve Russell for the loan of his Lotus 110 road-racing bicycle. This streamlined and lightweight machine was a display bicycle for the Lotus Formula One team. Developed from Chris Boardman’s 1992 Olympic 4,000m Pursuit gold medal-winning Lotus 108, the 110 was the time-trial road bicycle produced for public sale. It joins our cycling exhibition to illustrate more recent developments in racing bicycle technology.
1155 radio receiver
Many thanks to Mr Allbutt for the donation of an 1155 radio receiver. The radio is in working order and complete with speaker and power pack. The 1155 type was used on Wellingtons and Lancasters during World War Two and is planned to be installed into the Varsity to fulfil the team’s desire for a working radio.
Scrapbook compiled by Eric Alliot, flying instructor We are very excited to add a scrapbook compiled by Eric Alliot to our collection. Covering the period July to December 1936, Alliot compiled the scrapbook while working as a flying instructor at Brooklands at that time. We are grateful to Eric’s son, Michael, for this generous donation.
Thomson and Taylor bill for V L Seyd We are extremely grateful to Carol Edge for the donation of a Thomson and Taylor invoice. The bill was accrued by V L Seyd, Mrs Edge’s father. Mr Seyd raced at Brooklands in the 1930s driving

the Austin Seven Ulster that is currently on display in the Clubhouse (now owned by Dr James Anderson). It is very exciting to be able to add a document like this to the collection – featuring both a Brooklands company and a Brooklands driver.
