Welcome to the Flying Poo Challenge! (Tim Morris).

Nick signing autographs for his young fans after the show (Tim Morris).

Concorde up close for the first time, both of which feature in his book.

The predominantly under-14 audience was noisy in all the right places but we were worried they would shout the roof off the Napier Room at times! The queue to ask Nick to sign copies of his

books at the end of the show was long and he was more than happy to meet his young fans. We must emphasise that no members’ children were harmed during the Nick Arnold Show – although they may have got a little wet!

BLUE PLAQUE COMMEMORATES JOHN COBB’S HOME

News

Museum Director Allan Winn fires up the Napier-Railton for the school run (Paul Stewart).

O

n Tuesday 21st February pupils from Cranmere Primary School in Esher

gathered in the school grounds as part of a special occasion to mark the site as the home of John Cobb.

Allan Winn and Ralph Brough took the Napier- Railton as a spectacular show-piece and part of the commemoration of Cobb’s achievements. The school children waited behind the safety line and after a countdown cheered as the engine fired up and the car sailed past them from one end of the grounds to finish right outside the entrance building.
