VC10 OPEN DAY –17TH MARCH O
ver 150 people, including volunteers, Brooklands Trust Members and enthusiasts,
attended the recent VC10 Open Day. There were morning and afternoon visits on board, where people learnt about the history and operation of the aircraft from the ZA150 volunteers, including sessions in the cockpit with ex-East African Airways pilot Jerry Sirley. The aircraft is maintained so that it can still be taxied and at lunchtime two of the engines were fired up as a demonstration for the visitors. Merchandise sales were buoyant and thanks are due to Dunsfold Park and all the ZA150 volunteers for enabling this open day to take place.
