attracting new members during the past year. The Outreach Team attend events in all weathers and give generously of their time, and we are all immensely grateful for their efforts. In my annual report last year I explained that

we were going to recruit a second Membership Administrator to work alongside Tim Morris, in order to staff the BTM office on a full-time (Monday to Friday) basis. Many of you will have met Jeni Larwood, the successful applicant, who joined us last autumn. Jeni has settled in extremely well and established an excellent work- ing relationship with Tim which I am sure will further enhance the service to our members. At the forthcoming AGM we will hear a report

ur Vice Chairman, the indefatigable Robert Hall, has continued to lead on fund raising and, by the time of the Annual General Meeting, he is confident that we will have reached our target for the Scoreboard project – a remarkable achievement. Allan Winn reported to the last Brooklands Trust Members Committee meeting that a contractor has been identified and it is hoped that the Scoreboard will be erected in time for the Brooklands Reunion meeting in August. Our other Vice Chairman, Julian Grimwade, has been developing a Life Membership package, to be offered by invitation to long-term support- ers of Brooklands, and I am pleased to report that this has now been agreed with the Museum and will bring a further injection of funding. e are now settling in to 2017 and are looking forward to the summer when the Finishing Straight will be opened at the Double Twelve on 17th June and then the completed Aircraft Factory later in the year. We hope to hold a special members’ event around the opening of that in early autumn so look out for details.

W Membership is beginning to move in an

upward direction again with around 5,820 in total in March, meaning over 10,150 card-holding members. As we enter the busy early season we can expect that to rise again as people attend

from Allan Winn on the Re-Engineering Brooklands project and other developments at the Museum. As many of you may be aware, this will be Allan's last AGM as Director of the Museum, as he has announced that he will be retiring early next year. Allan has overseen a transformation of the Museum during his tenure, and we are all immensely grateful for everything he has done. Although there will be other opportunities later in the year to formally thank Allan, I would just like to take this opportunity to say thank you and well done.

Although I have only mentioned a handful of committee members in this brief report, all its members, and the teams who support them, give freely and tirelessly of their time for the benefit of the Museum and all Brooklands Trust Members, and I give them my grateful thanks. The success of the BTM is a team effort and we are all looking forward to an exciting future as the Re-Engineer- ing Brooklands is completed later this year.

some of the great events the Museum puts on, in- cluding the most popular event for members – Emergency Services Day on 1st May. It’s a great day to bring the children and grandchildren along to meet 'Fireman Sam' and some real Police, Fire and Ambulance men and women.

We have finished the roll-out of the new plastic membership cards so if anyone still has an old paper card it’s probably time to renew! We’ll be moving on to the next stage in the project shortly which will be to use the bar-code to count how many visits you are making and to call up your
