Destination: Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa Atlantic City, nJ
Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa is in the process of undergo- ing more than $50 million in expansion and renovation proj- ects, including an outdoor swimming pool and beer garden and a new eatery, which made its debut last summer. The pool can be used for swimming during the day, and as an entertainment gathering spot at night.
Another of Borgata's new projects was the addition of an 18,000-square foot nightclub last year called Premier. The space was designed to create “a theatrical experience for partygoers” and to compete with the blockbuster clubs in Las Vegas, New York and Miami. The space occupies the site of the former MIXX nightclub at the property and has replaced
mur.mur as Borgata’s flagship nightclub.
In addition, Borgata opened its 18,000-square foot Central Conference Center in May of 2017, an $11 million project providing an exclusive meeting experience while effectively complementing the property’s dynamic meetings and conventions program.
“The launch of Central Conference Center complements our event space,” said Mark Vanderwielen, vice president of hotel and property operations for Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa. “As the market-leading resort destination in the region, we recognize the importance of our meetings and conven- tions customers and are delighted to offer them an exclu- sive product containing a level of service that is unmatched anywhere in the city.”
Designed by Avenue Interior Design, the Central Conference Center features two stories of highly customizable event space that includes five meeting rooms, a boardroom and an office on the lower level, as well as a 6,500-square foot clear span ballroom on the upper level.
Occupying what was formally
mur.mur nightclub, the bi- level venue boasts the latest in technology, offering high definition digital projection, TV and Internet system capabil- ities paired with all digital distributed sound systems. Borgata Executive Chef Tom Biglan (Borgata Buffet, The Metropolitan, Bread+Butter, Noodles of The World) manages the culinary program for new conference center with Executive Pastry Chef Thaddeus DuBois (Borgata Baking Company, Borgata Buffet, The Metropolitan, Bread+Butter) overseeing the pastry program.
The addition brings Borgata’s total meeting, event and con- vention space to over 106,000-square feet between its three unique venues: The Event Center (70,000-square feet); The Water Club (18,000-square feet); and the new Central Conference Center (18,000-square feet).
Borgata also features a wide array of group dining options available from world-renowned chefs, including: Wolfgang Puck (Wolfgang Puck American Grille); Bobby Flay (Bobby Flay Steak); Michael Schulson (Izakaya Modern Japanese Pub); Geoffrey Zakarian (The Water Club); restaurateurs Greg and Marc Sherry (Old Homestead Steak House); and the resort’s newest offering by Michael Symon (Angeline).
