It was another beautiful Florida dog day in Central Florida as the 9th Annual RescueFest was held at Lake Lily Park in Maitland. More than 40 breed-specific and other local rescue groups participated with some 60 vendors on Saturday, January 28. Music, lots of food trucks and entertainment were on-hand throughout the all day event. Thousands of people attended the family-friendly event and around 100 dogs were adopted. As always, money raised went to each of the participating rescue groups. Great job, everyone.

175 people and their 80 canine friends attended the 4th annual Top Dog Gala benefiting Donte’s Den Foundation on February 4th at The Francis in downtown Sarasota. In addition to a delicious dinner provided by Louie’s Modern, guests were entertained by the dogs who entered a variety of competitive classes, including Best Kisser, Best Singer, Best Hair and Best Dressed. Four judges selected the winner of each category, and the audience chose the Top Dog from the four winners. This year’s Top Dog is Beaux, shown above left with his human Lucy Walters.
