Morgan Auto Group once again joins THE NEW BARKER as co-hosts for the June 11 Just One Day Adopt-A-Thon event. The collaboration began three years ago with a suggestion from Anna Cooke, editor of THE NEW BARKER to John Marazzi, co-owner and managing partner of Brandon Honda and Sun Toyota. “I told him about the idea, thinking he would be open to us utilizing the Brandon Honda showroom,” said Cooke. “With one email, John rallied Morgan Auto Group and 10 deal- erships the first year within minutes of sending out his message.” Ten dogs were adopted the first year. Last year, 30 dogs and

cats were adopted across the 10 dealerships, each hosting two rescue groups and/or a shelter with adoptable dogs and cats. “It’s a great event for our com- pany and for the rescue com- munity across Florida. Not only do we provide a comfort- able venue for the rescue groups to showcase their fos- ters, we bring awareness to the necessity of adopting versus euthanasia,” said Marazzi. each of the dealerships. Thankfully, this year, we have also part- nered with TampaPets.org who is helping us with the process and marketing the event,” said Cooke. Each dealership opens up a portion of their showroom to

allow for two different rescue groups, adoptable dogs and vol- unteers. There will also be a pet food drive with each of the par- ticipating rescue groups receiving the donations at the end of the day’s event. This year’s event will include Morgan Auto Group dealerships in Holiday, New Port Richey, Tampa, Brandon, Sarasota, Ocala, Gainesville and Lake City. At press time, shelters and rescue groups signed on included SPCA Florida, Helping Hands/Gainesville, Alachua Humane Society, Florida Poodle Rescue, Pug Rescue of Florida, Skyway Dachshund, VIP Rescue, Manatee County Animal Services, Tender Heart Charities, E.A.R.S, and Furever Yours Pet Rescue. Zeus is the spokesdog for Brandon Honda and Sun Toyota.
