Revamped Facilities Herald New SCP Era

A subsidiary of global pool giants, POOLCORP, SCP UK has launched a new era with the expansion and revamp of its now centralised warehouse and distribution facility at Gatwick. The new look hub now boasts a seminar room and wellness centre within the 45,000 sq ft space.

The rationalisation includes the switch from a branch/warehouse location at Basildon to a new satellite sales office just a few miles away. The new Basildon sales office boasts an experienced sales team and are the same experienced customer-focused individuals who will manage and serve their loyal customer base. Mark Deller, who had been the Basildon Branch Manager for

15 years, and boasts more than 20 years of experience within the pool business, now takes on a new role Area Sales Manager for the Eastern region. Most of the familiar faces in the Essex team have each been with SCP for more than 10 years. The new Distribution Centre has also added resources and manpower to its warehouse and sales teams. Dave Jones who has been with SCP for the past seven years, has been promoted to warehouse manager taking over from the previous manager, who retired last year.

SCP UK took the wraps of its revamped Gatwick centre with its launch seminar within the wellness centre for its Beachcomber spa dealership. The well-attended event was hailed a great success with the participation of Beachcomber representatives from Canada.

Technical and training seminars for customers and engineers within the trade under the SCP Academy concept have been scheduled. SCP UK’s Managing Director, Dash Ganeson comments: “SCP UK is now much leaner from a cost-efficiency viewpoint.

SCP ACADEMY TRAINING “More importantly, SCP UK will be poised to serve its customer base via a better inventory consolidation to one distribution centre.” Dash says the strategic overhaul helped SCP UK gear-up for the future. He adds: “With the possible uncertainty expected within the UK/EU in the next few years with BREXIT implementation, we have taken the steps to refocus the UK business to meet the fresh challenges and demands.” Ian Pratt, SCP’s Sales and Marketing Director, added: “POOLCORP focuses on exceptional value and dedicate ourselves to promoting growth for our customers businesses. We strive to locate products at the lowest possible cost while maximising supply logistics to deliver the best value to our customers. In this respect the UK operation epitomises this commitment to our UK customer base.” With more than 3,400 employees and over 300 locations worldwide, POOLCORP leads the pack as the world’s largest wholesale distributor of swimming pool supplies, equipment and related leisure products. Within the EU, POOLCORP has a presence in seven countries including the UK.
