Playmobil UK has hired Uffe Kloster as its new commercial director to head up the UK operation. Uffe is originally from Denmark and has extensive experience and a proven track record in the European toy business. Fluent in five languages, Uffe has worked as managing director in Denmark, Germany, Spain and the UK. He brings cultural and professional expertise to further develop Playmobil in a highly competitive market. Uffe will succeed Graham Brennan who, after 13 years at the business, is leaving to become UK managing director of Epoch Making Toys UK.

Following the appointment of Paul Fogarty as managing director to head up a newly- established UK office, K’Nex Brands has further strengthened the team with the addition of Alison Hubbard as head of marketing. Alison brings with her a wealth of toy marketing experience gained working at leading names such as Mattel, Tomy and Famosa. Alison took up her position in October as the company works towards a re-launch of the popular construction brand in January 2014.

GP Flair has announced the promotion of sales director Nicola Bergot to the role of commercial director for the company. As one of the original members of Flair, Nicola joined the company in 2000 and since that time has focused on her role as sales director. The new role will see her remain as head of sales whilst further supporting Simon Hedge, managing director, by taking on wider general management responsibilities. Simon Hedge commented: “This well- deserved appointment reflects the very significant contribution that Nicola has made to the growing success of GP Flair. Her new role will give me the support I need in my position as managing director and will see her representing the company on the highest level.” Nicola added: “I am really thrilled to be taking up the position of commercial director of GP Flair. Dragon-i has welcomed Alex Saussol as its new sales and marketing

Hy-Pro International has confirmed two key appointments to its UK sales team, Adrian Mayes and Liz O’Shea. Adrian Mayes has joined the sporting goods business as a national account manager. He arrives with a wealth of experience in the sports/toy industry, including roles at Smoby, Football Mania and Golden Bear. Meanwhile, Liz O’Shea has re-joined Hy-Pro as a national account manager. She has previously worked at DNC UK on licensed kid’s category (Disney, Marvel and Angry Birds) and OEM projects.
