Dear Readers: Greetings to you from all of us at African Sports Monthly!
Our president Saidu Kaye Sesay is away on a much deserved vacation. In his absence, I have assumed his role with the magazine as acting president for the month of April until he comes back fully energized to continue doing the wonderful job he has been doing with your support. I join him in ex- pressing my gratitude on behalf of the entire team at ASM.
Here at African Sports Monthly, our focus has always been on serving our continent as best as we possibly can in the field of sports. You and I know very well that many of our brothers and sisters are excelling around the world in various sports. However, often times, we have come to realize that their stories are either not given the attention they deserve or if their stories are reported, there is always something missing. It is this missing piece that brought us out here in the sports business.
African Sports Monthly is about a new generation of Africans who care deeply and are working in and out of our beautiful continent, to bring African sports stories to all who need to see the story told in an exclusive African manner. We are able to do this because Sports is in our DNA. If it is about sports and it happens in Africa or in any other country in this our global community, we will bring to you. That’s our commitment!
It is because of you that we continue to be inspired to do more even as we face challenges every
day. You are part of our family and we will count always on your support. Nothing gives us comfort and pride than to see that we are appreciated for the little we do to give a positive image to Africa. We believe each and every one of us has been called to serve humanity. Find your purpose and make a difference wherever you are. We have found ours and it is in the business of sports.
Please share the news with your friends, associates, family members about our magazine. We would like to reach as many people as possible. You can check us out on Face book, Twitter or share the link with all who come your way.
As I look forward to passing on the baton back to the substantive president, I hope I will catch up with you along the way. In the meantime, I am looking forward to returning to my responsibilities as Communications Chief of the African Sports Media Network (ASMN) which is the parent company of the African Sports Monthly.
Please help me welcome back Mr. Saidu Kaye Sesay to his office.
Best wishes, Anthony Abdul Karim Kamara, Jnr.
