A double Gold Medal winner at the Olympic Games in Athens and several Gold medals in the 1500 meters at the IAAF World Athletics Championships Hicham El Gerrouj is the king of the 1500 meters race he is the most dominant athlete to ever run this distance and has even been dubbed the ‘King of the Mile’ by other media sources. Born in Berkane, Morocco, Gerrouj has easily surpassed Said Aouita as far as accolades and trophies go in Track and Field. He is currently the World Record holder in the 1500 meters’, mile and outdoor 2000 meters.

Europa League Last Sixteen Post-match Man City, Liverpool, Rangers out, Porto, Benfica, Braga in the last eight


All British representatives are out of the Europa league last eight. Manchester City, Liverpool and Rangers couldn’t find a way through and the Portuguese secured the highest number of representatives in the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals.


SL Benfica, SC Braga and FC Porto all defeated prestigious opponents. Group A winners, mega rich Man- chester City, despite dominating the first half, failed to capitalise on their home advantage to overturn a two- goal deficit against Dynamo Kiev. Italian controversial Mario Balotelli was sent off for a rash challenge on Goran Popov.


Serbian Aleksandar Kolarov's goal was not enough to see the Eastland club through to the last sixteen of this year’s Europa league.


Former Chelsea player Andriy Shevchenko inspired his Dynamo side to a superb 2-0 victory in Ukraine, get- ting the opening goal to continue his fine form against the English outfit.
