AASI SNOWBOARD TECHNICAL MANUAL Acknowledgments
Tis manual is the culmination of many people’s efforts – too many to mention by name. Over the last three decades they contributed their talents to advancing the field of snowsports education across the country. Most deserving of mention are the authors and contributors to the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI) manuals that have preceded this piece. Without their enduring efforts there would be no tangible system in which to apply our skills. Tis group of individuals has opened many doors, and has created a myriad of opportunities for current instructors to share their love of snowboarding. Whether they were – or still are – full-time or part-time instructors, we forever owe this group of trailblazers a considerable amount of gratitude. Tey created a profession for us that is highly regarded by our peers in the mountain resort industry and by guests.
Te lead authors and contributors of the newly updated technical manuals for alpine and telemark skiing are also worthy of a big “thanks” for sharing their work, which has made all of the pieces better. Additionally, the AASI Snowboard Team has been a valuable resource throughout the entire process of creating this manual. Last, but far from least, were many writing contributors, reviewers, riding models, and photographers who spent much time and energy to make this manual a true representation of snowboard instructional practices in the United States.
