Riding exercises for experiencing pivot: ■ While standing still with both feet attached to your board, scissor your legs in an
oppositional manner with your weight centered between the feet to make a bowtie shape in the snow. Gradually move and rearrange the pivot point to change the shape of the bowtie to a wedge shape toward the front foot, and then the back foot.
■ When turning, move the pivot point closer to your front foot by keeping your front foot still and steering the board only with your back foot. Tis is commonly referred to as a windshield-wiper turn.
