PHOTO 6.5: In this basic parallel turn, the skis are relatively flat, pivoting occurs at the start of the turn, and there is more pressure on the inside ski.
PHOTO 6.6: Look for snow spray as an indication of how the skier is tipping, turning, and bending the skis through a turn.
Look to see if the edge release at the finish of one turn flows smoothly into edge engagement of the next turn. Notice whether the edge angle in the snow is similar for both skis, and if both skis tip onto edge at the same time.
