planning committee for the 2013 executive conference is busy selecting topics and speakers for the 27 to 29 October event. This year’s chair,Mike Swenson, of theMel Foster Company, brings a new perspective to this conference, with its focus on trends and outlook.
Once again, ECIA is supporting the
FIRST Robotics Competition® by providing electronic components for the more than 3,200 teams fromaround the world. ECIA will have a booth at this year’s championships to acquaint high school students with career opportunities in the electronic components industry.

www.ECIAauthorized.com, continues to evolve. Themost recent enhancement is a new import/export BOMtool, developed as a result of requests fromcustomers who want their BOMneedsmet by authorized distributors. Also ongoing, ECIA’s standards and
guidelines councils, committees and task forces continue to produce technical standards and business practice guidelines. The recently released 'model representative agreement,' for example, provides samples of important clauses such as the duties of each entity; remuneration; terms and termination of agreements; liability; trademarks; and intellectual property rights. The document also outlines best practices to help adapt the agreement to an individual business situation.
