Feature LED SOURCING NEEDN’T BE TOUGH
Dialight offers a variety of LED solutions including rugged options for outdoor use
Developed to offer rugged, vibration proof operation, the Dialight 657 series LED panelmount indicator features UVstabilized lens material suitable for outdoor applications. The unit is keyed to prevent rotation andmounts in an 11/16inmounting hole. Three variations are available: domed lens, flat lens and right angle. All 657s feature a sealed and potted design, said tomake them impervious to dust and water intrusion, as per IP67/NEMA 4X standards.
The right angle 657 series boasts highoutput LEDs that provide
light in a 110deg illumination pattern, designed to deliver high visual acuity withminimal light spill. Suitable applications include the illumination of dashboards, instrument panels, control panels and aircraft cockpits. The light quality and controllability, combined with a robust construction and 50,000 hour lifespan, helpmake the 657 superior to traditional incandescent lights that are too fragile to withstand rugged treatment.
The domed and flat lens 657 are also described as energy efficient,
providing up to 100,000 hours of operation. These daylight viewable indicators are ideal for transit andmilitary vehicles.
In other news fromDialight,
the company's PrismSMD indicator series is designed to survive 260°C peak reflow temperature and provide the aesthetic appeal of a diffused lens for enhanced viewing. Ideal for limitedspace applications and boardedge mounting, the Prismseries is available in a variety of package sizes including single level, bilevel and trilevel configuration and in two and threemillimetre lens size. The integral light pipes are engineered formaximumlight transmission andminimal light bleed, while the diffused lens is also ideal for bi color and tricolor applications where colormixing is desired.
Applications include storage servers, switches, routers,
telecommunications equipment and infrastructure products.

IN TOUCHWITH MATERIALS TECHNOLOGY
Materials expertise developed by 3Mlies at the heart of board level and cabling applications in high performance computing and touchscreen technology
The 3MElectronic Solutions Division provides a variety of electronic thin substrates and sensors, components and systems for enhancing andmanaging electronic signal properties. Its solutions can be found in consumer electronics, touch panels, enterprise and networking, industrial and factory automation, semiconductor and componentmarkets worldwide.
To this end, 3Mutilises its expertise inmaterials and electronic
signal transmission to develop practical and high frequency solutions for board level and cabling applications in high performance computing and data centers and in projected capacitive (PCAP) touchscreen technology and electronics.
Examples include the company's new interconnect option for
SFP+ applications targeted at highperformance computing systems, data centers and other ultrahighthroughput networks. 3Moffers its lowpower, highspeed active optical cable (AOC) assembly for SFP+ applications with a reach of up to 100m. The directattach, bidirectional AOC assembly supports speeds ofmore than 10Gbps per channel over OM2+ bendinsensitive fiber. It can

be used to connect highperformance switches, servers and storage.
In display technology, new dualtouch chassis displays in 15, 17
and 19in, are designed to provide kiosk and enclosure manufacturers with a responsive, durable dualtouch display solution for heavyuse public environments. These robust projected capacitive interactive displaysmeet the requirements of a oneuser, gesturebased interface by supporting common gestures such as flick, pan, zoomand rotate. Add the durability of a metal housing, chemicallystrengthened glass, antiglare surface and flat front surface design, and kioskmanufacturers have the ideal interactive display for upcoming kiosk programs or upgrading existing installations.
Products are available through a network of authorized
distributors who can ship fromstock and often offer valueadded services.
