PV connector rated for worldwide use


Amphenol Industrial Global Operations has announced that its photovoltaic (PV) H4 connector is TUV­ certified to 1,500V and meets the requirements of IEC EN 50521, certificate: R­72123201. This newrating approval, combinedwith the existing 1,000V rating fromUL, further establishes the H4's suitability for useworldwide.


Targeted at engineering, procurement and construction firms,


this field­installable connector can be used in large scale utility and commercial PV installations. It not only adheres to UL requirements in the US up to 1,000V, butmeets IEC requirements for use up to 1,500V inmarkets where IEC is recognized including the European Union, parts of Asia, India and theMiddle East.


Amphenol’s H4 connectors feature Radsok technology, said to


offer high current ratings and low contact resistance, resulting in lower power losses and improved reliability. They alsomeet NEC 2011 requirements without the need for extra locking collars or sleeves.

Connector assembly takes bandwidth to themax


FCI has developed cabling solutions utilizing ExaMax connector technology that delivers up to 40Gb/s bandwidth capability. The IO connector combines a new contact interface design said to decrease terminal stub and ground­mode resonances with an optimized cable termination thatminimizes impedancemismatch and signal loss.


The new cable assemblies utilize the advantages of the ExaMax


contact system, while combining it with a controlled cable termination process, said to ensure overall signal integrity performance. Crosstalk, skew and impedancemismatch are minimized throughout the wiremanagement, wire termination and wire strain relief areas to assure high bandwidth.
