Spin bikes: high resistance, 2-minute workout x6 bouts, seated/out of saddle. Immediately intersperse each bout of spin bike with one of the following exercises (8 repetitions, x4 sets, 6 bouts) (Fig. 5)

Step-up with volley return and unilateral shoulder press

Start position: injured leg on balance object. Single pulley with appropriate resistance held at shoulder level (same hand as injured leg) (Fig. 8). Finish position: step up to volley football back to partner, maintaining postural control. Raise arm to elevated position and proceed with step-up. Return to starting position (Fig. 8a).

Step-up with bilateral shoulder press Start position: injured leg on balance object. Each hand with single-pulley handgrip (cable cross-unit) with resistance. Keep spine straight. Step up and bilaterally shoulder press. Keep head up (Fig. 6). Finish position: two feet on balance object with both shoulders elevated. Step back down with non-injured leg, keeping injured leg on balance object. Repeat (Fig. 6a).

Alternate single leg stance with thigh-volley Start position: both feet on balance object, heels raised. Resistance belt attached to single pulley and fastened around the waist with appropriate resistance applied (Fig. 9).

Finish position: raise alternate leg to thigh-volley football to partner, maintaining postural control against pulley resistance. Maintain heel-raise position through weight-bearing leg (Fig. 9a).

Single leg stance with volley return Start position: injured leg on balance object, heel raised. Resistance belt attached to single pulley and fastened around the waist with appropriate resistance applied (Fig. 7). Finish position: step up to volley football back to partner, maintaining postural control against pulley resistance. Return to starting position (Fig. 7a ).

Single leg lunge with bilateral shoulder diagonal Injured leg on balance object, lunge position with weight over injured leg. Single pulley with appropriate resistance held in two hands starting in wide-arm position. Pull across body in diagonal pattern, maintaining knee position. Return to starting position (Fig. 10).

Lateral single leg stance with volley return (Fig 11) Stand side-on to partner, with injured leg on balance object, heel raised. Resistance belt attached to single pulley and fastened laterally to waist with appropriate resistance. Non-injured leg toe-touch on floor. Step up to volley return to partner, maintaining postural stability throughout. Return to starting position.
