TARAH KAYNE & DANNY O’SHEA
KAYNE: “I am on a strict week- ly schedule with my physical therapist, Jorge Giral. We work on specific exercises to target injury-prone areas. Danny and I also do a lot of ballet classes, which help me build strength, stay lean and work on my grace and flexibility. We also love playing with our puppy, Snow!”
O’SHEA: “At a young age I was told by some coaches that when you visualize, it’s almost as effective as actually skating. I started trying to take a few minutes at the end of my day to visualize certain elements of my skating. It’s so helpful to imagine doing what I want to do on the ice. If you can try to put yourself in that rink or the gym or the classroom doing everything exactly the way you want, then when it comes time to do it, you’re more comfort- able.”
MIRAI NAGASU
“Sleep is so important. Not only dœ s sleep recharge me men- tally, its obvious benefits include constant healing of my blood vessels. I know I need to sleep when I feel a slight twitch in my eye
and my brain won’t stop going over possible exam questions.”

kind, buy new tennis shœ s or a yoga mat, walk the dog, join a gym … and, of course, go ice skating! Don’t forget to bring along your family and friends on your healthy journey. “My advice to people who want to
live a healthier lifestyle is to bring a friend along,” SKATING cover athlete Tim Dolen- sky said. “It helps to have someone keep you accountable and push you on days when you aren’t motivated or want to slack. You can do the same for them. Find a buddy and keep each other on track.”
