JIMMY DISBROW
THE AWARD
The Jimmy Disbrow Award is unique in that it honors members of the figure skating community who exhibit the selfless, passionate spirit of dedication and volunteerism that Jimmy contributed throughout his life to our sport.
After an esteemed amateur figure skating career, he spent two years traveling with Holiday on Ice. In 1982, Jimmy found his calling in the restaurant business, becoming the entrepreneur of Buffalo Wild Wings, Inc. He served as its President and CEO until 1997, and Chairman of the Board until 2002.
Jimmy spent many years giving back to figure skating as a coach, national and world judge, and finally as President of the United States Figure Skating Association from 1998 until 2000. In 1998 he had the dual honor of serving as Team Leader for the 1998 Olympic Team in Nagano, Japan, and as Chair for the 1998 World Championships in Minneapolis. While serving tirelessly in all of these capacities, Jimmy approached each task with an infectious enthusiasm. All who had the pleasure of knowing him were drawn to his warmth and compassion. Jimmy Disbrow died October 16, 2002, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

The Jimmy Disbrow Award will be presented to an individual within the figure skating community who displays an outstanding spirit of dedication and contribution to the sport. Please send a nomination letter describing this person.
The recipient(s) will be honored at the 2017 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships with a trophy, a cash award and a matching contribution to the Memorial Fund.
Nominations must be received by Dec. 1, 2016.
