Annual Mee ng REC Day is September 19 and it is YOUR day

I

t’s that  me of year again – annual mee ng  me! On behalf of Northeast Oklahoma Electric Coopera ve, I’d like to personally

invite you to join us on September 19 at the Grove Civic Center. The employees and board of trustees look forward to gathering with you – members of the co-op community – to catch up, hear what you have to say and enjoy some good food, entertainment, fun and fellowship.

This event is not only a chance to visit with members of our co-op community – it’s also a great opportunity to learn about programs off ered by Northeast Oklahoma Electric Coopera ve and get to know your co-op staff . Our annual mee ng makes it possible for us to gather feedback from you by providing a forum where you can let us know how we can be er serve you and your family.

Cindy Hefner Manager of Public Rela ons

This is an occasion to discuss and learn more about the issues aff ec ng our local communi es. It’s also an opportunity for you to exercise one of the greatest benefi ts of being a member of an electric co-op, by cas ng a ballot for your representa ve to the board of trustees.

Northeast Oklahoma Electric Coopera ve is not owned by far away investors, and it is not run by an appointed board of directors. We are run by a democra cally elected board of trustees – a board who is given the privilege to serve because of your vote.

Our trustees are members of your community. They are concerned with the issues you face every day because they face them, too. And don’t forget – all members of Northeast Oklahoma Electric are eligible to run for the board – that includes you!

A democra c and open elec on is one of the many elements that make our electric coopera ve stand out from other u li es. Having a voice in who makes the major decisions that directly aff ect your life and your family is a right we all share as Americans. We all vote for our state and federal Congressional representa ves, but not every American has the right to vote for those who will represent community interests within their electric u lity. You have that right, so why not exercise it?

Rest assured, no ma er what happens, we remain dedicated to providing you with safe, reliable and aff ordable electric service, but we encourage you to take part in helping us improve how we deliver that service. So make it a point to join us on September 19 at our annual mee ng. We promise we will make it worth your while!

Northeast Connection is published monthly to communicate with the members of Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative.
