Industrial 3D Metrology in Casting Process Chains GOM 测量 — 铸造工艺链中的工业 3D 测量系统


In casting processes, 3-D measuring technology acceler-


ates many stages in sand casting, pressure diecasting and investment casting; from model and tool making, molding shop and core making all the way to first article inspec- tion reports and CNC machining optimization. ATOS, an optical 3-D coordinate measuring system, from GOM, Braunschweig, Germany, is a response to increased demands in industrial production. Te 3-D scanner enables full-field and non-contact mea-


suring of models, tools, dies, sand cores, sand molds and cast parts, regardless of component size. Te full-surface measur- ing results guarantee a faster first article inspection as well as a targeted tool correction and thus shorten production ramp-up times. In series-accompanying quality assurance, all measuring and inspection workflows up to inspection reports run completely automated with the 3-D measuring cell ATOS ScanBox. By automating the entire measuring and inspection


process, including inspection report, ATOS ScanBoxes can be operated directly by production staff. Tis is realized by the standard software Virtual Measuring Room (VMR), which simulates the real measuring cell environment, including com- ponent and robot kinematics. By that means, the robot can be controlled directly in the VMR without using a control panel. Tis allows for the complete preparation of the measuring procedure on CAD, without the actual component. Especially for identical parts, recurring measuring tasks


are simplified and accelerated. Te measuring cell enables trend analyses that help depict systematic errors within the manufacturing workflow as quickly as possible. Automated measuring and inspection processes also lead to a higher throughput. In addition, a centralized quality manage- ment can be established with the ATOS ScanBox, as the standardized measurement and inspection processes can be applied to different sites, regardless of the operator. 
