STAR-Cast is a powerful casting simulation mod- ule. Drawing on CD-adapco’s 35 years of expertise in thermal-fluid simulation and Access’ 29 years of experi- ence in casting and metallurgy, STAR-Cast leverages both CD-adapco’s expertise in flow simulation and Access’ know-how and skills in casting. STAR-Cast integrates industry-leading CFD technol-


ogy with the specific models required by the casting engi- neer, bringing a new level of precision into casting process simulation for the manufacturing industry. STAR-Cast provides the engineer the freedom to refine models so that all the physics can be resolved at once from a single user interface, making it a very effective tool for high pressure diecasting. STAR-Cast can handle flow-related issues on top of the typical solidification related problems encountered in casting. By enabling the user to include the interaction of molten metal and air, flow-related de- fects can be addressed accurately and better solutions can be achieved early on in the design process. 
