Sylvie, a native of France, has been named a top photographer by Martha Stewart Weddings for the last two years. Doug, Sylvie, Olive, and Sylvie’s two boys, 18 and 19, spend one month a year traveling the world. Last year Doug directed a high- ly successful 30-minute broadcast infomercial for the American Automobile Association; he also directed and edited videos for Fuze video conferencing and eight commercials for Hewlett Packard. Doug was also creative director and writer for four AAA animated spots about dis- tracted driving, won a first-place Telly Award for a video he edited for the Rain Forest Action Network about the endan- gered orangutan, created a 20-minute employee welcoming film for Wells Fargo, edited 18 original short films called “Family Scrapbook Stories” for Disney Jr., and directed a national commercial for Bank of America and the Kahn Academy that aired during last fall’s World Series. New Milford, Conn., resident Anne Alzapiedi was named one of Working Women’s 2014 Working Mothers of the Year. Nominated by her employer, General Electric, she was lauded for the extensive volunteer work she did for the town of Sandy Hook after the 2012 school shootings there. Anne assisted town selectmen, developed crisis-response pro- tocols, and handled requests from the national media. All the while, she never missed a beat in her position as HR leader of GE’s IT and operations department. Anne is a dedicated single mom to 13- year-old daughter Katie. Last November, I caught up with Michael Ross, Jim Friedland, and Barb Short ’87 at Short Stories in Madison, N.J. Barb opened Short Stories, a community bookshop and arts hub, last year after a successful Kickstarter campaign. She is grateful for the support she received from several Skiddies, including Jane Zoldis Quinn and Jane Moore Houghton ’87, who are featured artists at her store. Barb was hosting Michael, a history professor at the University of Maryland in College Park, who was at the bookstore to discuss his book The Great New Orleans Kidnapping Case. Lauded by the Wall Street Journal and New York Times, the book recounts the true story of two Afro-Creole women on trial for the kidnapping of a white tod-

Tad’s book How Rocket Learned to Read was selected by Time last year as one the top 100 children’s books ever. I met Michael’s wife, Ashley, and their baby, Andrew. Barb has two girls; Evi, 14, and Lily, 12. Jim Friedland lives in Allendale, N.J., and works for Credit Suisse. Jim and wife Lori stay busy looking after Matt, 18, Nick, 16, and Olivia, 13. But Jim finds time to do the occasional half-marathon and triathlon. We will celebrate our 30th reunion in spring 2016. Please plan on attending, and if you can, please volunteer to help make the big weekend our best reunion ever! Contact me for details.
