Carolyn Davidson Becker says “life is crazy” as she meets the challenges of fam- ily responsibilities with an upbeat spirit. She enjoys bridge and lunches out with friends regularly. Carolyn keeps in touch with Lillian Glassman Resnik and Sandy Eisenberg Weinstein. Elizabeth Gleason Holck spent 27 years as a pediatric nurse in New Jersey. She now lives on Skidaway Island near Savannah, Ga., with husband Don and their cat, Bucky. Formerly a volunteer fire- fighter there, Betty now heads up the first aid division of the rescue squad. She took two amazing trips to Guatemala as part of a volunteer surgical team with the ecu- menical Christian organization Faith in Practice. Betty sees Susan Liss Biggs, who winters in Florida, twice a year. Betty and Don have three daughters and six grand- children in Maryland and New Jersey. Alice Rodwin Anderson is enjoying retirement on Bethel Island near San Francisco. She boats and travels through- out the US and abroad. Alice met up with Nan Cooper Healy at Lake Tahoe last year, and she also revisited her freshman dorm, Furness House, during a trip back east. She is a thriving cancer survivor, avid reader, and caring grandmother of nine.


Fran Garrett Crew lives on 50 acres in Elmira, N.Y., with her happily retired spouse, Pete, and two new Lab puppies. The rural setting is ideal for long dog walks and deer hunting. The couple, who enjoy venturing far and wide in their 40- foot mobile home, spent March in Sarasota and the Florida Keys. They have four children and seven grandchildren whom they see frequently.


Carolyn “Roxie” Hildenbrand Regan has stayed in touch with Jane Goodman Hunter and Mary Call Tobin over the years. Roxie and husband Bob spend January until April in Sarasota, Fla., where they enjoy meeting up with family and friends. Active in the Sarasota Institute of Lifetime Learning, they attend lectures, musical performances, and discussions. Roxie maintains close ties with her chil- dren and grandchildren. Joan Cole Pendergast is retired from a long career in public health and private nursing. Joan, who has had successful hip and knee surgery, keeps fit by swimming and is active in her church. She also stays busy keeping track of six children and 18 grandchildren.


Barbara Cashin Rogers and husband Jim have two daughters in Minneapolis and two grandsons, ages 21 and 24. In the summer Barbara and Jim live on

Madeline Island in Lake Superior, where they run a magnificent art school. They invite classmates to come visit. The cou- ple winters in Palm Springs, Calif. Sandra Luce Traff and husband Cliff are residents of Captiva Island, Fla., but maintain a home in Minneapolis, where they spend each summer. Sandra would love to see visitors in either location. Laura Riordan Lancaster has enjoyed rewarding jobs in the fashion industry over the years. She now divides her time between Vermont, New York, and Palm Beach, Fla. Laura has started a new career painting Impressionist-style flowers that she exhibits in her Palm Springs gallery. Her son, a former Army pilot in com- mand of Black Hawk helicopters in Iraq and Afghanistan, is now working at Sikorsky in Connecticut. Her daughter lives in NYC and has three children. Marge Sigsby Noble retired from teach- ing physical education. She enjoys life in the retirement community where she and husband Bob reside. Marge says she has become an expert pickleball player, a strong swimmer, and a great support to Bob.


Finally retired, Gail Dodge Meade is in Gainesville, Fla., where she has met many new people and participates in leisure activities. She loves the great weather and her new home. Her only complaint is that “Gater-mania” is rampant at the University of Florida, which makes get- ting decent NASCAR racing reports diffi- cult, even though Daytona is nearby. Anne Davis Carrier still calls Minneapolis home but enjoys spending January to April in Rio Verde, Ariz. She and husband Tom recently sold their home there and feel “as free as birds” in a rented house. The couple recently took a great trip to Italy and the Dalmatian coast. They stay in touch with Anne Mintener Heegaard and husband Pete, and Sara Sprague Monick ’57 and hus- band Bruce.


Flora Crisp Rowse and companion Joe divide their time between Ellicott City, Md., and Buckeye, Ariz. They visited Cris’s Skidmore roommate, Barbara VanPopering Keyes, and her husband in Colorado Springs, Colo., last year. Cris also took an unforgettable trip to Israel with friends. In Arizona, she is active in a women’s club. She does water aerobics and walks to stay healthy and fit. Cris says that all her “original parts” are intact and she feels wonderful. Maria Bouloukos Cassier spent the last 50 years in Montreal, but now she and her engineer husband, Marc, are retired


and living in Toronto. They enjoy travel- ing and keeping up with family. Maria gets together twice a year with longtime friends Barbara Ward Hayes, Carol Gilligan Mushaw, and Naomi Tandet Shapiro.


Adelaide Baright Hamilton and hus- band Jim are busy keeping track of their extended family of 24. Adelaide complet- ed several degrees at Old Dominion University and has worked at its women’s center. The couple, who lived throughout the US and Europe during Jim’s military career, have been tackling the challenges of downsizing.


Frisco, Colo., resident Aurel “Andy” Brown Searls loves skiing in Colorado. She is developing a much-needed senior housing project that would serve people of Summit County. Claire McCleery and Jerry are now per- manent residents of Palm Springs, Fla.; it was getting difficult to care for two homes. The couple took a “marvelous” trip to France in July, going north then south on two river cruises. Vallie Hill Beckwith has moved from New Jersey to Tucson, Ariz., where she has family. She and I had a great time catching up over lunch. I am eager to meet her Norfolk terrier, Ready. Stan and I also enjoy getting together with Barbara Hawes Wood and husband Scott. Last year, she co-chaired a peace symposium in Tcherkasy, Ukraine. She continues to commute between Florida and Switzerland. Mary Heep van Riper made her 12th trip to New Zealand, where she visited the grandchildren and their parents. She recently reunited with Joan Greenfield Axelrod, Joey Haufler Rosenthal, and Ginger Clark Keare, whom she reports are “all very energetic and involved in life.”
