Mae Louise Finkbeiner relies on a walk- er and oxygen after suffering a fall early last year. Nonetheless she enjoys life in her retirement community, where she “doesn’t have to do a thing except pay the monthly charges.” Jane Geibel Morton enjoyed attending last year’s Spoleto Festival in Charleston, S.C. She welcomed a great-granddaughter in June and a step-great-granddaughter in October. She traveled to Southampton, England, then went on to Hamburg and Berlin, Germany, where she witnessed fes- tivities marking the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. In addition to the loss of Betty Noyes McMath, we also mourn the passing of Jean Dauer, Jean McNulty McCurdy, and Mary Jane Wells Edlund last year. We offer our prayers and sympathy to their families.
I enjoyed a great cruise to New Zealand and Australia this fall, sporting the Skidmore T-shirt I wore at our 65th reunion! I had an early Christmas with my granddaughter Allegra, who graduated from NYU with a nursing degree and is now working at UCLA Medical Center. My youngest grandchild was set to gradu- ate in May from Carnegie Mellon. DO DUNKEL JERMAN 1983 SANDSTONE VISTA LANE ENCINITAS, CA 92024-4247 760-634-7640

Susanne was looking forward to visiting campus for graduation this spring. Jill Burnside Zeno went to the Whaling Museum in Nantucket, Mass., to see an exhibition of art and craft by local people, including carvings and watercolors by the late Mary Pat Gardner. The Elmans wintered in Florida. Katey Geyer Winant sent news of her senior-year roommate, Sally Wickstrom Poole, who lives in a retirement commu- nity in Slingerlands, N.Y., “just across the mountain” from Katey’s home in Williamstown, Mass. They plan to meet up soon. The class mourns the loss of Sara Fetridge Sloat, Vouletti Van Heusen Williams, and Marjorie West Bahlke last year. We extend condolences to their families. Kay Smith Parkhurst hated to miss Reunion, but just couldn’t work it out. Skidmore staff member Paul Mastrodonato later dropped by to fill her in on the fes- tivities and describe how vibrant student life is on campus. Over the Christmas hol- idays, five of Kay’s seven great-grandchil- dren, all under 5, were in town. “Cribs, plays pens, and diapers abounded,” she says. Kay did nothing but play with them: “What fun!”
